A common question is how many words equal a typeset page. In this example, the MSWord page shown has 347 words, or 1936 characters including spaces.

This creates one full typeset page of a 5.5 x 8.5 inch book.

The author used the font TIMES, 12 point and she also double spaced for easier editing.

If you set up your Word file with similar settings, you will be able to make a reasonable guess as to how many pages your book might be once it's typeset
